Meet the Team
Bekkii leads the ministry team (4 days a week) of the The Orchard Church of Christ. She, alongside our board members (from our congregations), provides leadership, vision and direction for the congregations at Boronia and the recently merged, Bayswater churches of Christ. Bekkii also loves God, good coffee, and working in collaborative, imaginative teams
Joanne gives oversight and leadership to our pastoral care systems, and small groups, She is currently working with a team of professional counsellors to develop wellbeing workshops and experiences for the church community, as well as the local community
Associate Minister - Kids Outreach and Digital Communications
Kate is responsible for KidsQuest (our Thursday afternoon kids program), where she trains and leads a team of young leaders. Kate also has the role of digital communications, which includes maintaining this website, managing social media, making signs and more!
She loves gaming, adventures and spending time with friends and family.
Simon is our Community Garden and Community Integration Minister (2.5 days). He coordinates our Community Garden at the Bayswater Campus, which opened in 2021 and also works as part of the Admin team. He loves chatting about faith, drinking coffee, and playing basketball.
Office Manager and Church Communications
Jill facilitates the smooth operation of our office. As the Office Manager and Communications person (2 days), she takes care of a lot of the behind the scenes things that help to keep our church going. Jill supports the maintenance of our website, and our Facebook pages, and facilitates communications getting to the correct people, especially when it comes through our website. Jill also assists with record keeping, supporting our both our pastoral care and welcome teams.
David is our volunteer who is part of the church administration team. He is vital in supporting the ministry staff in a number of important ways. David works tirelessly behind the scenes in a number of administrative areas to ensure that our church effectively utilises its skills and giftings.
Richard is a volunteer with local church experience who assists with our pastoral care programs. Richard also has a passion for poetry, which he shares with all of our congregations via our Church in a Bag ministry. He also assists with putting together the DVD, USB, and other elements to get online church to those who don’t have internet access.
The Coffee Pot Community Minister
Alli has been volunteering in The Hub Play Cafe for quite a few years. Alli has loves talking to all that visit, and welcoming them into the space. While still volunteering at The Hub, Alli also manages The Coffee Pot Play Cafe 2 days a week, a new safe space that opened in February 2023.
Alli is currently studying Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Cert 4 and will bring those skills to our Community and beyond.
Director of Video Development
Sam contributes all things video as our videographer and loves capturing authentic moments. As an experienced director of photography and videographer, with a focus on storytelling, Sam has several years of experience, including work on TV shows like Country House Hunters and television commercials. His professionalism, dedication, and friendly demeanour make him a sought-after choice for various projects, preserving cherished memories, and crafting visually captivating narratives.
Children's Ministry Coordinator
Mel facilitates the Little Lambs Playgroup on Thursday morning. It is a fun, free play, safe space for families to come and play, socialise and support one another while learning about who God is.
Mel also coordinates and plans the Sunday Children's program.
As a mother of 3 young boys, she appreciates and enjoys the privilege of sharing and teaching our young ones about the love of God and encouraging them to grow their own faith.
Hospitality and Community Engagement Minister
Hannah manages the Hub Play Cafe. The cafe provides a great space for people to come and catch up over coffee and scones, have a great morning tea, or enjoy a delicious lunch. Hannah is a terrific cook and does a wonderful job at making people feel welcome and included.
She is also involved in Community Engagement, which involves Friday Night community meals at Bayswater, organising events and finding ways to connect with the local community. Hannah loves being around people, cooking, gardening, drinking tea and being outdoors.
